Every methods I've tried, there is no Edit Profile link at the top of the empty profile. I've editted profiles for years, so I know what I am doing. This function is broken and Yahoo isn't aware of this.
When will Yahoo fix the Edit Profile function?
Some people who have had troubles editing their profile have had success signing into their profile using the firefrox browser instead of Internet Explorer. Maybe that would work for you too.
