I've had this really cute themed aim profile for about a year and a half now and haven't touched it a bit because it was sooo me but now I think it's time for a change. Does anybody have any ideas for what I can put on it? Can you give me some of your own quotes or wut not?

How can I find the NAME of my computer profile in my hard disk?

I have been trying to copy data from my old computer profile to a NEW profile I have created. I have the following as part of the instructions I need: "Locate the C:\Documents and Settings\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive on which Windows XP is installed, and Old_Username is the name of the profile you want to copy user data from." My problem now is: How to identify which of many NAMES under " Documents and Settings" ( in my hard disk) is the NAME of my OLD computer profile. In the hard daisk, there are so many folders and sub-folders with different names. Which of all these is the NAME of my OLD computer profile ?

Reply:the name is your log on, if your log on was Mike then it would be docset/mike if your new user name is Joe, then you want to copy mike to joe.

Put that person in the IGNORE list in ORKUT, after that he will not be able to steal your profile. This option you will find below your profile photo also. 'Go to that person's profile and put him as ignore'

If you're trying to effect the look so that others will see it a certain way. People viewing it are doing so with different browsers and people can even customize the same browser to display things differently.

So if you're not just doing it for your own view, it's a moot point since you can't have perfect control over the way others are seeing it.
Reply:The browsers use different technologies, and your myspace profile will look different in FireFox and IE. I have the same problem, it's not possible to fix.

I am having the same problem. I contacted yahoo's customer care for the member directory just today and received the following response: "We assure you that we are aware of the "Photo Upload" issue and have escalated this to our Engineering Department for further investigation. We hope to have it resolved as soon as possible." I understand your frustration and I guess there is nothing we can do about it. If you have a photo on another site and are comfortable doing so, you can add that to your profile with a link or you can create a photo album with a select picture or pictures and make it viewable to the public and direct people there as well. Unfortunately, you cannot completely delete a Yahoo! 360 account. It's linked to your primary Yahoo! ID. If you want to delete your Yahoo! ID, visit this link: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_use... If you want to keep your Yahoo! ID for things like Mail, IM, Answers, etc. then you'll need to hide your 360.

There are a few different ways to do this,

1) Select the "Settings" option at the upper right of your 360 page and change all of you settings to 'Private'. This hides the majority of your content, if someone stumbles onto your page.

2) Perform option #1 and then select the first "Display Me As" option on the Settings page. Now your profile doesn't link to your 360 page. Also, UNcheck the "Activate Simple URL" setting and the "Friend Search" setting. This way people cannot guess your 360 page by sticking your yahoo id onto the end of 360.yahoo.com or searching for you by name or email address.

3) Perform options #1 and #2 and then delete your friends by selecting the "My Friends" link in the upper right of your 360 page. Select "Edit Settings" on a friend's name, then select "Remove %26lt;friend%26gt; from your Friends Page". Finally, delete all of your content, blogs, links to pictures, lists, reviews, etc. This pretty much makes your 360 inaccessible and/or unusable by anyone who happens to get there.

Then you will have no profile, you will always have that page, but it will show no info, best you can do.

You can not delete your 360 but you can hide it

Make sure you hide it even if you want to close your whole account.because the page may not be deleted for up to 6 months.

This happen to a friend of mine and she could not get to her page to hide it after that.So do the steps as directed in the link above

Go to settings on top of your 360 page and set everything to private. If you have uploaded any photos on your profile just remove them. Now your profile can be seen only by you.

Never fully delete but you stop others and your self from using it and then you can not go back for 30 days or yahoo will not delete it as a inactive page. But go and remove friends,all personal blogs and photos.Go to your communication and un-check all the boxes,and in your setting add a fake name etc,And uncheck your URL address. Then set everything to private or just me and save ,then leave it

Make all your settings (basic info, blog, communication, and every module on your "My Page") set to "Friends" or "Just Me (Private)". The "Just Me (Private)" setting is preferred, but if you don't have that option choose "Friends."

You can't completely get rid of the 360 functionality without deleting your entire Yahoo account (mail, photos, etc.). You can only make sure no one who you haven't invited can view a feature and make sure that there's nothing there to view.

My fiance has a 360 on her Yahoo name, but no member directory listing. So far she has not been able to make a public profile. In order for her to view my photos page, she must have an Adult profile. So how can we create a public profile to meet the requirement? The regular links lead her back to the360 page, and there is no Adult member option, just Adult only blogging.

She should go to her account information and check for it to be a adult page

Go to your setting and profile and set things to public. Of course you do not need to let the public see real last name,living location,And you can go to your answer and set that to make a link to your 360

Biophysical profile???

Okay so I'm 36 1/2 weeks pregnant.. I was originally seeing my gyno through my pregnancy and then she referred me to an obst. So I had one visit with him last week.. He sent me for a BPP (biophysical profile) I asked him why and he didn't really give me an answer.. When I asked my gyno why she was referring me to someone else she also didn't really give me an answer.. I feel like I'm getting the run around by everyone.. I know my amniotic fluid is "average or slightly below" but both dr's have reassured me that they're not concerned at all.. So why would he send me for a BPP if there was no cause for concern??? Anyone else been dealing with a lack of straight up answers from their doctors? This is my first child that I've delieved so it's all new.. I do have 3 other children, however one is a step daughter and 2 are foster children, so i've never had to deal with all the "pregnancy" bits before!! Please help! I'm starting to stress lol!

Demand answers!!! I had the opposite problem with my first pregnancy--too much fluid. My doctor called me in for an earlier appointment during my 8th month and when I asked why, he wouldn't tell me. When I went for that appointment, he STILL didn't want to tell me why he was referring me to a perinatologist. I demanded answers and, in the end, I was so unhappy with his lack of communication that I switched providers at 36 weeks. They explained everything and my baby was born early due to complications at 37 weeks.

That being said, the doctor may have sent you to an ob because gynecologists traditionally don't deliver babies.

As for a BPP, I had one when I changed providers because with all my extra fluid, they were afraid I would go into labor early and they wanted to make sure the baby would be ok without any intervention to help develop her lungs. Did your new doctor see something that would indicate that you may go into labor soon?

I'm sure everything is fine;however, you have the right to know why they are doing things to you. Demand that they tell you.

At Picture option -- select "Use my Yahoo 360 Picture";

Click Preview;

THIS IS THE NORMAL PROCEDURE THAT I KNOW and it has been working so far.

From when are you getting this "temporarily unavailable"? Sometimes it takes much time to update some qualities. If i were you, i would wait until tomorrow or give it like at least 2 hours.

Go to your 360 page and click on SETTINGS. Then in BASIC INFO, scroll down to where it says YAHOO IDENTITY DISPLAY and choose the FIRST option. Scroll down a little bit farther and where it says to activate your simple URL...put a check mark in that box. Copy that URL, then click save. This should give you your OLD Yahoo profile back. Once you are back into your OLD Yahoo profile, you can paste that simple URL that you copied in there and you will have a link to your 360 profile there. Don't forget to click save when done.

Go to http://360.yahoo.com/ and click on "Settings" in the upper right of the page. In the middle of that page, your Yahoo! profile names will be listed with 3 "Display me as" options. Select the first one and save the changes. That should get back your old profiles.

I've had my other yahoo account since 1997. I'm currently 27 and have changed the profile to reflect that...however, the account doesn't recognize it. Double click your profile. Then you can see Edit Picture option on the right. Click on it and you will come to the uploading page. Click on the Browse and select the photo in your comptuer to upload.

If the page go to yahoo photo when you click on the Browse, it is yahoo technical error in the new version of yahoo photo uploading. Currently there are many people facing same the problem to upload their picture into their profile. You have to wait till they solved it. How long it take depend on yahoo.

You can write to yahoo regarding this and encourage them to speed up the correction.

You have to have pictures saved on your computer. On your home page(not profile page) click on Add/Edit Photos. You will see a box that says Photo Upload, next to it a browse button. Click the button and it will open another window to search your computer for photos. Usually located in your My Documents Folder in a subfolder called My Pictures. pick the photo/photos you want on your myspace page. Then at the bottom you will see a picture and an Arrange button click Arrange. Use your mouse to highlight the picture in RED and it will say Album Cover. That will be your main profile picture.

Click it and send them an invitation to become your friend. They will automatically become one of you Favorites..once they accept, you can put them in your Friends category. Send all your friends that you want to visit your 360 the Simple URL by e-mail, IM or post it on any other sites you might have..like MySpace. Also, Trixie, I visited your 360 and you need to change your Comments on your Top Page to Public or you restrict yourself to comments from only friends. tests like that will often also ask the same question worded differently in different sections of the test... this is meant to check your consistency...

if the results of a test like that don't give you a better understanding of yourself, you likely weren't as honest with yourself as you could be

employers may use tests like this to gain insight into a prospective employee and sometimes even determine if that person is a good fit personality-wise.. work skills aren't all that is important

You can separate yahoo profile page and yahoo 360 page. Effectively, you will get the old profile back as it was.

Here are the steps:

1) Go to your 360 page.

2) Click on "Settings" near top right corner, i.e. http://360.yahoo.com/edit/identity.html

3) Select "Display me as %26lt;your_nickname%26gt;", i.e the first out of the three options. This is the critical step.

4) That's It. Go to %26lt;your_yahoo_id%26gt;http://profiles.yahoo.com/%26lt;your_yahoo_id... and your old profile IS BACK!

(Note: If you have multiple Yahoo aliases as I do, you need to change each and every one of them to unlink profiles.)

On messenger click on Messenger at the top then click on My Profiles. At bottom click on Create/Edit My Profiles. Once the page opens you want to click Edit on line your Yahoo! ID is listed on. Then click on Edit Profile Information At the very bottom where it says Display Options uncheck the first box that says Adult-oriented content? Then click on Save Changes. You may need to refresh your web page for this to show that it was changed.

1.alright go to the top right of your facebook page and click privacy near home account and logout.

2.on the privacy page, scroll down where it says limited profile

3.Click edit settings under limited profile

4. Under information you can unclick photos tagged of me and below on the page, you should be able to unclick your albums of you. If that doesn't work, tag your pictures that you downloaded yourself, and then that will count as a tagged picture, so people won't be able to see it

or you can type in a limited profile for the people who you want to have one, thats at the bottom right

I am the commish for a yahoo fantasy football league that i have had on yahoo for the past 6 years. in my fantasy profile, i can go back and look at the schedules and rosters for 5 of the 6 years. for the 2003 season there is no data. did yahoo lose all its information that year? if not, how do i get it put on? thanks,

Y! pulled all the old info that they had archived, there's nothing left. if you have blank spots from a few years go then it has to remain blank. they can't add in what rank you had because they can't confirm anything without being able to look at the league, and they can't look at the league because it doesn't exist anymore. bum luck but thems the breaks.

Even though I haven't taken my profile down, I don't access it sometimes several days. I wouldn't mind it if it were done once in a while until we got closer. But he is doing that even as we are getting closer, and just after we scheduled a date. It seems disrespectful because it is often minutes before or after he has called me. Advice or thoughts?

So, I called him and canceled our date with some excuse. He is the one that seems to be wanting to be closer than what my timing is, though so far the interest is pretty mutual. We are not exclusive, haven't talked about it, nor have we had sex.

We HAVE kissed and made out for long periods of time. We have had long dates, 12 hours long. We have each other's personal email address, so he is NOT checking for email from me. He CAN see my profile and pictures without logging on his account. I can see his, I know this is the case.

So you met through an online dating site, and have graduated to dates offline? That's always promising :). You're not exclusive, and haven't even discussed that as a possibility. It sounds like YOU want to be exclusive, but without any communication you're expecting him to read your mind. Men are about as far from mind readers as it gets!

Why would he think you would care if he is active on the online dating site if you are just casually dating? He doesn't need to take your lead as to how often you check your profile to mean how often he should be checking his profile. If he isn't insecure, he probably thinks when you cancel the date you're cancelling for the reason you say you are.

Communication is KEY here. You're gonna have to stop expecting him to read your mind. If you want to be exclusive, talk to him about it. If you want to continue casually dating, then you need to come to terms with the fact that casually dating means both of you can date other people (and may find those people through the same online dating site the two of you met on).

It can be hard to come out and say what you want, but if you don't you're never going to get it and you're going to drive away great guys by playing the "why aren't you reading my mind?" game. I'm living proof success IS possible on online dating sites...I met my fiance through an online dating site. It didn't happen instantly, so before meeting him I had lots of online dating site experience.

Talk to him about it if you're worried. He probably doesn't even know that it's bothering you.

Facebook says "When you contact someone through a poke, message, or friend request, Facebook lets that person see part of your profile temporarily, even if your privacy and network settings would usually prevent him or her from seeing your profile."

Well I've had people add me before, and message me, and if I click their name, I just get the search result, with a small picture, and sometimes a link to their friends. I don't see the limited profile type thing you're meant to.

It's odd because I was on my friend's account at his house a while back, and I was able to view the profile of this guy who added him before accepting him. The same guy added me, and all I got was that search result. Same story when someone messaged me just now.

It's too bad that in this forum we can't be more honest. When I first started, I posted a poem, and some nice fellow said words to the effect, ... well, come to think of it, I'll just quote him, because, after all, he wrote it, and in a public forum: I'm sure he's actually quite proud about what he said.

This is his comment about my poem, my very first posting on Yahoo answers," By the way, you may believe your heavy handed overly worded insignificant jumble of meaningless tripe the greatest thing since Poe but its really a pathetic attempt.”

I'll be honest with you, I was a little hurt, because I have been in Yahoo poetry groups for 5-6 years and even have a couple of my own, and we don't talk to each other like that. But in this forum, any time you offer your writing, you stand the chance of getting this kind of stuff.

You also get a lot, I have noticed of comments that indicate pretty clearly that the person completely missed your point and either can't read, is lazy, has diminished mental capacity or serious social issues, if not psychological issues. And that is why you, and I, and we, have gotten smarter now, and write little intro's to our poems.

I once wrote this: "Enjoy the sentiment? You can despise it if you like. I know this forum now. If so, sorry wasted your time?" You know, and it's sad, but what I was doing was fending off, in advance, some of the real deadbeat comments. Yes, deadbeat.

I'm not angry about deadbeat answers; but I'm just raising the subject, because they cast a pall over the community. When people are allowed to vent their personal problems through this forum, it has an effect. You know, we used to say, "Put mind into gear; engage mouth (or pen) (or keyboard).

Words can cut like a knife. Yes words, and everyone knows it. I can say words to you that hurt more than a hard slap in your face or a punch in your gut. Sooooooooooo easy, just like that. And that's just chicken ... Really chicken, the numbies that hide in their little rooms somewhere and spew out their neuroses and ... enough.

It’s not hard to be mean: any idiot can do that. It’s not always easy to care about other people’s feelings and make a positive inter-personal and social contribution with our words, action, lives.

I'm actually making a point.

The point is this. That's a beautiful "love-lost" poem. At a certain moment, when we realize that a true love has been lost, it is like all life itself is lost. Life has no value or meaning, but more than that, the feelings are intense -max.

I believe that honesty requires all of us to admit, share and sign-in on this one. Further, if you don't, you're lying or you've never been in love.

Love is, in many ways what we ultimately live for, whether we realize it or are willing to admit it or not. Love: giving it and receiving it, sharing it spreading it around, treasuring it, nurturing it, experiencing it, feeling it, writing about it, sharing about it.

Machos who can't own up to this is are a sad case.

ok, so i have other photos uploaded, but when i go to edit to change the profile pic, it only gives me the option of changing pics from a profile picture album, and theres only 1 pic there. This page holds another toolbar, there should be options like, personal, contact info., and picture, ect. Click the one that says picture, then click the option button that says "browse", which is beside the empty text box. Then select your photo, check the box saying you have persmission to upload the floowing picture, and click "upload". It should then change your profile picture for you.

The other names that they send it to are very similar to mine, so I'm guessing that they do you a search for all names that start with certain letters and hope that a few of them happen to be email addresses. Well, if yahoo photos is changing and you can't upload pics to the profile anymore( Which I can't So I'm assuming no one else can either. ) Will this completely elminate Profile pics? Or are they going to move the FLickr system over at that specific date so that Profile photo's can once more be uploaded?

I am not sure what we will be able to do or not do with this move. Yahoo have not been very fair to their customers by not releasing more information to us, in order that we can make an informed choice of what we think we should do. This is just another ploy to screw the punters for more money in the end.

Reply:I just dealt with a problem exactly like this last week. Here's the fix I used:

Log in with another account (ADMIN)

goto the following registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\...

Under here you will find some long numbers these are known as the Users SID, if there are a lot of people logged onto the machine there will be a long list in here.(Hopefully not). Click on 1 of them and check the details in the right hand pane and it should give you a profilePath.

Not sure if your profile is kept in the c:\winnt\profiles directory, or the c:\documents and settings directory. Check these first before changing the registry key

what you may find is that your profile may have a .BAK extension, if so rename the folder and remove the .BAK extension.

then go back to the registry and change the temp path to the correct path, then logout and back in as your user account, all should be back to normal.

I used to have my profile in the ADULT section but now I want to change it back to regular...how do I do that???

To change out of the adult section

while logged in

go to

http://profiles.yahoo.com

click on view my profiles

you will see yahoo id / edit

click on yahoo id/

click on edit profile information

go to bottom of the page

UNCHECK the box in DISPLAY OPTIONS

Adult-oriented content? Designate this profile as an 'adult profile'. More Info

click save changes

and you are removed

Is it common practice for Yahoo to replace the profile picture with the picture from your blog when removing the adult content pictures?

Facebook - Change Friend Display on Profile?

How do you change the default display of the facebook friends listing on the "profile" page. For instance, my profile shows the thumbnails of a handful of randomly picked friends, while other user profiles show "Bob has X friends in the following networks: 10 in DC, 5 in UNC, etc"

it was always have a bunch of random friends.

are you part of a network? if so, you may need more friends before you can get the "friends in the following networks" thing

it will start by listing the amount of friends in your network, then work its way down through the networks from most people to least people.

try getting more friends too. that always helps :)

I've recently got a profile up on a personals site. My profile is a little skimpy and I feel stuck for what to say. Do you know any good sites I can get information from in order to design my profile that no woman can resist? ;)

Any tips from guys or girls would be appreciated as well.
